My Hypothesis

>Getting close

. Motel guests share (thin) walls. Housekeeper has keys. No forced entry. Hmm. Wife too mousy. But the boyfriend... An affair can make you do crazy things. So I've heard. Murder? Perhaps. Police have prime suspects. Interrogations taped. All lies. Hidden audio track? Need to find. Thug has reputation for this sorta thing. But victim bought gun from thug (right?). Wanted it back? Jewelry case locked up in evidence room at police station. What's in it? Money motivates, love disintegrates. Hogan guy can't keep his story straight. I got it.It was...

Connecting the dots

Bullet matches gun in motel room. Whose gun? Victim's? Murderer? Who else has guns? Cops. Ex-cops. Thugs. Suppose anyone can get a gun these days. Finger prints on bottle. Three sets. Passed around? Friends? Bartender served a lot of bourbon. Watched someone watch someone else. Then watched them follow out the door. Where? Police interrogating suspects. A market altercation. Thug's saying doesn't know anything about anything. Still wondering why briefcase is AWOL but a jewelry case isn't. Hmm. What was in briefcase? Victim had briefcase in death grip. Literally. Forensics says bullet entered skull but didn't exit. Ballistics confirms shot through pillow. A struggle. A scream. Muffled. Picture getting clearer. Almost there. My place...before sunset.

Evidence Stacking Up

Plot thickens. Motel statements taken. Telling the truth? What do you think? Suspicion. Everywhere. Victim was nervous. (So we're told)... Motive? Entry not forced. Access to room. Skeleton key? Or picked lock? Following a receipt... Supermarket Manager had a lot to say. Bourbon is a popular beverage. Street thug comes out of nowhere. Apparent altercation. Says it's not his fault. Hmm. Guessing he's not the most honest thug. Has a rap sheet. Gun, too (and one to sell)? Probably. Finally tracked down wife. Attractive. Attracts men, I bet. Nice tan from what I could see. Been lying on a beach? Alone? Mentioned husband leaving her. Took her jewelry. To sell? To wear? Creepy. More to learn about her.

Crime Scene

Crime fascinates me. Addicted. A hobby. I play. In wee hours of AM, murder was committed. Need motive. Always a motive. Here's what I know: Something's been stolen. Need a who, a why, and what. Got the where. Motel... man shot... killed and killer was in room. Or, was body dumped there? The killer. He? She? Them? Me? Dig deep. How deep did the bullet go? Tech will help. Leica scan? Who has access? Housekeeper. Yes. No. Maybe. Someone saw something. Crime scene a mess. Furniture disturbed. 1.5 liters blood loss... on bed... gun on floor... casing match? More to learn. Left on foot? Car in parking lot. Whose? Victim's? Killer's? Guest? Worker? Killer out there. Somewhere. Local? Visitor? Victim in Room 103. What about Room 102 and 104? Need more clues. Someone knows something. They always do...
